My iPhone 8 Plus died and unable to charge but I want to retrieve photos and videos.

Are you saying that you never made backups of your valuable photos and videos?
If yes, you will need to make an appointment at the Apple Store or take the phone to an authorized Apple service shop to let them check over the phone and go over your options with you.
