Issues with brightness control on my MacBook Air after the macOS Monterey 12.7.6 update

I have been having problems with brightness control since my latest OS update. Sometimes the slider and brightness buttons do nothing. Sometimes they just change the color temperature of the screen, making it cooler/blue at lower brightness and warmer/red at higher brightness.

I have tried multiple configurations for my display settings with multiple restarts, shutting down and restarting, and nothing works. At the moment I have "automatically adjust brightness" and "true tone" turned off, and am set to the Color RGB color profile, and am having the color temperature issue.

I have a 2020 MacBook Air with an Apple M1 chip, and am running Monterey 12.7.6.
