So many opinions out there on whether we should power down our iPhones from time to time. I am asking APPLE to set the record straight for once and for all, are we supposed to power down occasionally and does that benefit our phones? I just purchased an iPhone 16 and I want to take the very best care of it.

I concur with stedman; there is no need to power down an iPhone at all, much less a few times a week. Apple most certainly doesn't make such a recommendation, nor does any manufacturer of any computing device that I've ever worked with (over many years). And it certainly won't benefit your iPhone and could even be of harm in an unusual circumstance.

Apple is not here in these user to user forums, so they will not answer you directly.
But no, there is no need to power down your iPhone at all unless there is some issue with it that requires you restart it for some reason.
It can stay on, and work fine.
Apple makes no such recommendation. I certainly hope this is not a requirement, as my phone has only been restarted when it completes a software update.
