pop up virus

I keep getting pop ups that my Mac or my Safari is infected, how do I stop the pop ups or check if my Mac is infected?

As etresoft said, it's a scam, coming from an infected or malicious website. To clear these fake notifications:


- In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari and click Settings (or Preferences), then click Websites, then click Notifications. Scroll through the list of websites and look for websites that don’t want to receive notifications from. Anything that shows Allow can send you messages, so switch them to Deny if you do not want to see their messages. 


- You might also need to clear Website Data (on the Privacy tab).


- Finally, you may want to turn off the setting to "Allow websites to ask permission to send notifications"
