Previously purchased Music that is in iTunes
how do you access your old iTunes music? When I open tunes on my phone, my account does not show up under purchased music (only my wife's). I know that I have some music that I purchased.

You need to log out of your wife's Apple ID and log in with your own before you'll see purchases made with your account. Once downloaded, then you can play the tracks no matter which account the iPhone is logged into.
