Automate airplane mode fornipad pro

In order to maximize standby battery time on my ipad pro i’d like to automate that when I close the magnetic cover it enables airplane mode and low power mode and disable when opening the cover. When I try to use shortcuts there are no options to allow the use of the cover as a trigger. For now I set a specific time as the trigger. On 18.0 12.9 ipad pro. Thanks.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 18

You are correct: there is no trigger in a personal automation based to achieve that. The closest would be a time trigger or a Focus trigger (Sleep, Do Not Disturb...). Another option (not automatic, though) would be to have a regular shortcut that you would tap before closing the cover.
