Sequoia freezing in multiple applications when opening or saving files

MacOS Sequioa 15.0.1 constantly freezes with anything related to file management from browsers and other apps.

When trying to open or save a file from Chrome or Safari it freezes.

Microsoft Teams won’t open any file (not even an image to change my video background).

When trying to edit a PDF in Preview (ie: add a signature or a text) it freezes.

Can not open anymore by password vault software mSecure.

Complete Nightmare!!

Issue solved after SIGN OUT from iCloud on the MacBook Pro.

It looks like it was an issue with iCloud Drive as it was not appearing on Finder, even tough my user was loged in and I saw the MacBook Pro on my iPhone as a device.

I had the same issue but solved it by turning off OneDrive's backup feature. I had that set to sync the desktop and documents between my Mac and PC. I also turned on iCloud Drive's Desktop and Documents folder option. But, I believe the culprit for my situation was the OneDrive Backup.

Hi. I have had the same freezes - trying to save an edit from QuickTime, 'save as' in Word, and had to revert to Firefox to upload images to a website (Sequoia 15.0.1). REALLY BAD for a 'for use' software release. But turning off access to iCloud has fixed most of these issues, as suggested by the previous comment. Hugh
