iPad stuck on gmail and will not open anything
iPad fell off table now will only open Gmail but will not go to the email message itself, no response to hard reset

If you've done this force-restart:
If your iPad won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support
and the iPad won't respond, then it's quite likely that it's suffered hardware damage from the fall. You'll probably need to take it to an Apple Store or authorized Apple service center for a diagnosis.
