safari crashing A LOT on Ventura 13.7

I'm on Ventura 13.7 and I'm on an M1 Air. I don't want to upgrade to Sequoia because I feel like my machine might be underpowered for the latest and greatest OS. But I'm also on safari 18.0 and have noticed that since upgrading to the latest Safari that it is crashing a lot. I don't have many tabs open. maybe 5 or 6. I could understand if it was more like 20. just posting here wondering if anyone else has come across this situation. I see that safari 18.0.1 is out but I don't want to upgrade to that and have even more problems.
