Attempting to reinstall macos Monterey but recieiving: "com.apple.BuildInfo.preflight.error" when clicking location for install.

I decided to try reinstallalling my current version of OS Monterey, since I have been having nonstop kernal panics while using Logic Pro with my UA Interfaces. (As a quick note, the kernal panics started occuring much more often after updating from Big Sur to Monterey. This tells me that it was either not updated properly, or this version of OS does not like the equipment I use or my peripherals, because they worked fine before...)

After restarting my computer and holding CMD+R on my Intel-based mac, I clicked on the Reinstall Macos button on the list and clicked through till I got to my Macintosh HD (Main internal SSD). As the title says above, when I try clicking the instal location, it is un-clickable and I am given this error message: "com.apple.BuildInfo.preflight.error". I would perfer not having to reset my SSD, but if there is no other solution, I am willing to at a last resort.
