Can't change the network name or channel when sharing internet through MacBook Air's WiFI
I'm trying to use my MacBook Air running latest Sequoia and share the internet connection.
These are the steps:
- I connect my phone (which is connected to a cellular data network) via USB to Mac
- I go to settings>general>sharing>internet connection
- Set "share your connection from > iPhone USB"
- Set "to devices using > WiFI"
- I enter the name of the network, channel, and password for the new WiFi network
- Start sharing
Mac indeed creates a network, but ignores everything that I entered in the setup window:
- It creates an unsecured wifi (I selected WPA3)
- The name is not what I entered in the settings, it just uses the default computer's name
- It ignores the channel that I selected, and just uses default of 11.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
