iPhone 16 Pro Max Front Camera Blurriness

This is crazy. I have a 16 pro max and had the 14 pro max before. The 14 was sooo much better. The quality sucks on the 16 and the autofocus is TERRIBLE. I make good content and it’s so hard having to press the screen to focus with food in my hand. So annoying.

Neither image is sharp. Not sure what you were trying to illustrate. Here’s a macro shot with 16 Pro Max.

Corners aren’t perfect, but everything is reasonably sharp and legible. The 13mm ultra wide was used. The 24mm would have sharper corners and better overall sharpness.

I have the same exact problem! I switched from iphone 11 pro to an iphone 16 and I am honestly disappointed, why is the camera quality grainy and blurry? I didn’t pay for the newest iphone just for it to be worse than previous models

Me too! I’ve upgraded from an iphone 11 pro to an iphone 16 and the camera quality is 100% what you described, you have to stay super still so the photos won’t be blurry, the camera quality is seriously bad and the photos come out grainy, am I doing something wrong?

Why are you keep saying that is an app problem ? After so many complaints I don’t think we are talking about insta, Snapchat or whatever else but the actual iPhone’s 16 main camera app. The camera has errors from whatever app you like. The question to the complaints without acceptance is useless or you are trying to eliminate the problem with this way or buy some time ? The point is that we are giving you 1000$ for almost every apple product you have and this is the response. Doing nothing.

Look at the posts in this thread. My front camera on iPhone 16 PM is fine. Images exhibit no blurriness, and the noise grain is dependent on the light levels. This is nothing new.

If your Apple Camera app is producing poor results, post an example or two with the image information.

Me too, i have the exact same problem. I upgraded from iphone 11 to 16 pro max and the front camera is so blurry and the colours are really “white”

i dont know if this is an issue that can be fixed but i hope it is.

So If you just a user like me, then why you are defending them so much? Someone who is more sneaky would assume that you are doing that because of some secret business relationship with Apple because I can't find any other explanation for your persistence. You are the only one who's all day and night defending something that is proven almost from everyone. The camera has errors like it or not nothing is gonna change it and the photos you took are far from excellent. Face the reality and stop acting like a genius expert because you are not....

With each update it also seems the quality of the back camera has gone down from when I first got the phone although it still is pretty good. BUT the front camera is awful. I’ve tried defaulting the settings or just adjusting them, but it’s always grainy and not super clear and overall just a poor quality photo. at this point them not addressing it is crazy because these phones are too expensive…

Ditto. Upgraded from 13 Max to 16 and the photos are unbeliveably grainy/fuzzy. Cleaned lens (which didn't need it). restarted phone. Nothing changed. Hard to believe it's as bad as it is. What are the options? Very sorry I wasted my money on the iphone 16 Plus.

Me too!! Also upgraded to 16 Pro from an 11 and my front camera will not focus on Snapchat. It’s driving me insane.

Can you post an image from the front facing camera? I’ve an iPhone 16 Pro Max and it’s fine. It could be an isolated issue.

The bottom sample image looks fine. Is that with iPhone 16 or what, there is no context. Do you have a sample to share or not?
