Problems with access to internet for certain apps - mainly banking apps and ones that use biometric data. Deleted app and tried to download again, went through website and instructed site to 'trust' device - had same message, you are not connected to the internet. Tried to reboot phone, forget wifi and reload, nothing is working well since update. Please advise

Have you tried to update to iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1? Both updates were made available yesterday.
My 7th Gen iPad was working well with iOS 17 and without checking any forums I have upgraded it to iOS 18 and it has now turned into a sleepy and pretty useless object.
I frequently look at Flightradar24 and this used to work quite fast, now it takes about 30 seconds to load fully which is ridiculous.
I have removed almost all of my photos to make space which is now over 12GB and still it’s hopeless. The email account on my iPad and my iPhone SE 3rd Gen also running iOS 18 don’t update properly any more so if I move a mail from the inbox to another folder which appears on both these devices and my Mac Pro, the moved mail doesn’t follow on the other two devices until several hours later - again, ridiculous.
i have switched off automatic updates on the iPad now as if it does any more it will be totally useless to me.
A sad situation for a pensioner who has been a faithful Apple user for many years and I will probably go over to Android devices soon.
