Finder file preview icons not working as expected

MacOS 15 Sequoia / Macbook Air M1

File preview icons in Finder are missing for some photo files (.jpeg/.jpg) and for some 3rd party file types (for example: .studio3 files for use with Silhouette Studio which are normally shown/supported when the Silhouette Studio app is installed).

Photo files that are missing the File preview icons don’t seem to follow any reason that I can see. It is random and affects some files but not all. Blank white rectangles are displayed rather than picture previews, which are different than the generic icon image.

I have tried rebooting, force quitting/restarting Finder, and force quitting the process “com.apple.quicklook.ThumbnailsAgent”.

Also: In Finder View Options, Show Icon Preview is selected.

This incorrect behavior only started after upgrading to macOS 15, and was not corrected by macOS 15.0.1.
