MacStudio is once again in repeated recovery mode cycles

My MacStudio M1 Ultra has been solid. Until the day I attempted to install Sequoia. The update failed and put me in recovery mode. So I attempted to install the OS that way and it again failed and recovery restarted. This happened 3 times. The second time I disconnected all devices from the Mac. The last time I even turned off my BT Magic Keyboard and magic mouse. For some reason, that time the update worked.

Today I tried to update to the latest version of Sequoia. And I’m now on recovery update attempt 3. I’ve had all devices disconnected and that does not seem to be the solution.

(I ran disk doctor but it found no issues.)

whats going on? Why is this happening?

On Disk Doctor, was this how you did it?

Boot into Restore mode,CMD+r keys...

Look at top of screen for Utilities menu...

In Disk Utility>View, select Show all Devices, highlight the top left entry.

Run Disk First Aid on all items in the left panel, from top down.

Does Safe Mode work to try to install it?

On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Shut Down.

Wait for your Mac to shut down completely. A Mac is completely shut down when the screen is black and any lights (including in the Touch Bar) are off.

Press and hold the power button on your Mac until “Loading startup options” appears.

Select a volume.

Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in Safe Mode.

The computer restarts automatically. When the login window appears, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar.

Does the problem occur in Safe Mode?
