Battery showing orange while wireless charging

Hello. So recently I bought a third party MagSafe wireless charger. Today I noticed that in settings-battery it shows in yellow while I charge the phone with the wireless charger. When I charge it with the original cable it shows in green. I don't see any difference in the charging. It doest get too warm. The speed is slower, but this is normal. So my question is why it shows in yellow?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 18

That's an indication that the charging was slow during that period. With iOS 18 it will indicate slow charging not only in the battery level history, but the charging indicator at the top of the screen will show orange rather than green during periods of slow charging. If that's the time it was on the wireless charger, then that charger isn't providing the amount of current that the iPhone can accept. If it's charging acceptably, though, you can just ignore that information.

Regards.

When you look at the bar chart of the battery charging levels, you will see bars in green and bars in orange. The green bars indicate that your battery was being charged normally and at a rated speed. If your phone is using a slow charger, you'll see a warning in the form of an orange-colored line in the battery graph; that indicates the use of a slow charger. At this point, it is unknown what charging speed is needed to set off the warning.

As stated, the orange on your charging history represents you were using a slow charger to charge your iPhone. Ensure that you’re using a charger sufficient enough for charging your iPhone.

Here's what the other colors on your iPhone charging history represents:

Green ⇢ iPhone battery above 20%

Red ⇢ iPhone battery below 20%

Yellow ⇢ Low Power Mode

Orange ⇢ Slow Charger
