Dynamic Island on the iphone

You can not. Not sure why you would find it intrusive and useless when it actually added some usefulness beyond just being a static black space in the screen ( ie the “notch”) that used to exist for the sensor and dynamic camera. But, no you can’t get rid of it

Try Settings > Face ID & Passcode > [Allow Access When Locked] Live Activities = “off”.

Sounds like they want the actual island gone completely not just to turn off live activities.
