phone wont let me turn off face id for photos

I turned on the lock for photos when the new update came through to try it but now I want to turn it off and my phone won’t let me. I’ve restarted my phone, made sure it’s fully updated etc. but even when faceid for photos is turned off in settings, it still makes me use it to go into my photos. It’s driving me insane!
