Can you use the new macOS Passwords app on device only without syncing remotely to iCloud

I am interested in using the new passwords app on Mac desktop BUT only if (1) it never sends secrets to iCloud (i.e. Apple servers) and (2) I never have to use biometrics

Unless the answer to both questions is Yes then I won't use it.

Please can someone provide the answers to my two questions.

Thank you.

  1. Disable Passwords in System Settings > [your name] > iCloud. This way they won't be synched on the Apple servers.
  2. You won't need biometrics or your session password to fill in the passwords in Safari. They will be automatically filled in. But you'll need biometrics or your session password to open the Passwords application and view your passwords.
