Strange errors running First Aid on my disks

Since I am facing some strange errors - including time machine backup cannot be completed - I run a disk repair.

At the end of the "First Aid" process the volume was reported to be o.k. but I am receiving constant warnings like this.

warning: descendants (1700) of dir-stats object (id 283906) is greater than expected (1364)

warning: descendants (536) of dir-stats object (id 12706431) is greater than expected (522)

Can anybody tell me, how to resolve those "errors"? IS there any way to determine, which directories are matching the ids in the report?

Kind regards

Thorsten

Since First Aid did not fix those issues (sometimes you may need to run First Aid a couple of times), then you will need to run First Aid while booted into Recovery Mode. If those warnings remain, then you will need to perform a clean install of macOS by first erasing the disk (aka deleting the "Volume Group") followed by reinstalling macOS & restoring from a backup.

Thanks for your fast replay! I run the First Aid option quite a few times on the volume, the container and the disk - but without any effect on the warning.

I did the same in recovery mode, but the warnings are still there!

Since I am affected by the known Time Machine issues with MacOS 15.x I do not have a relatable backup, therefore the new installation is not a real option for me. Since the last update to 15.0.1 I am not able to run a time machine backup on my NAS nor a USB-connected hard drive anymore! The backup starts, but is hard-stopped during the backup process!

If the issue is hardware/SSD related, I doubt a new installation will fix it.

Could these two warnings be related to Microsoft OneDrive? I have two synchronized OneDrive Accounts - and two warnings!

Is there any way to match the IDs reported in the warning to folder names? In this case, I could try to remove those folders!
