Help finding a lost Magic Mouse

Like many of you, I have a small child who can just barely reach to top of my desk and who also likes to take and hide things.

Today, my magic mouse is missing. It's still connected to my laptop. I can see how much battery is left. I can disconnect and reconnect. No amount of shaking the furniture has made the mouse move on my screen. :-(

I found this article (how to find my lost apple magic mouse / m… - Apple Community) and was hopeful that it would help, but I'm running Sonoma, and it seems like the RSSI values for bluetooth have gone away as of Bug Sur... or maybe earlier.

I would LOVE to play a game of hot/cold for my mouse if anyone can tell me how to get Sonoma to give me this info.

I've tried a few things, but they all result in something a little like the below:

> sudo wdutil info
-67 dBm # for my wifi
0 dBm # bluetooth mouse
0 dBm # bluetooth keyboard
0 dBm # bluetooth headphones

It seems like there is still a placeholder there, but the radio isn't giving out that info anymore. ... maybe?

TIA!

PS: If it matters, please ignore the meta data about my machine. While I do have a MBP 13 running 11.7, the one that the mouse is connected to is a 2020 MBP 13 running 14.6.1

Interesting stuff ... learned something new today. Thanks!

Doing a quick check, I opened System Information > Hardware > Bluetooth, and found RSSI values for Bluetooth devices that are connected to my Mac. Might be worth a try.

In case y'all were worried, I found it. Yay!

Never was able to get a view of the RSSI in any of the apps mentioned or using Mac's internals.

Feels silly to have to slap a AirTag on my mouse when it probably has enough tech built in to provide this functionality. Hey Apple if it's in there, can you let me use it? ...I'm sure this won't be the last time.
