I keep getting this message: Cannot Get Mail
The mail server "imap.gmail.com" is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings.

Remove the email address and re-enter in Mail using the Google option.
Well, I repeated the delete account process but this time I turned the phone off. Waited. And turned it back on. It’s been working now throughout the night.

Go to Internet Accounts
Click on the email you are going to remove
Go to bottom pf panel and click on Add Account
Choose the option that fits the email address you are re-entering
Hope that explains it for you. What hopefully it does is reset your email.

Seems to work for the majority of people.
You can try to see if it works in the app Gmail on the App Store.
So let’s see. Under MAIL>MAIL ACCOUNTS>GMAIL, I have allowed Apple to enter all the parameters with no changes. I have some mail loading in the app, then it stops. I have deleted the account Twice, even deleted the app MAIl. It loads the emails then stops.
Still getting nothing to work.

Crap. Two hours later it has returned. Sigh.
Now what. Worked for ever in iOS 17 and below. Think a bug in ios18?
Go to Gmail.com on a browser and see if any setting have changed when you originally set it up.
