Find Shared Secret and VPN password on OS 15 Sequioa?

I used to be able to find this information using keychain but the keychain app has gone and the VPN security information I cannot find in "Passwords".

I am just setting up a new machine and I want to be able to log into my office using a VPN but I cannot remember the secret nor password and it is driving me mad. I have tried searching using Google but that tells me to use keychain.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.0

Keychain is still on your Mac. Look for it here Macintosh HD/System/Library/CoreServices/Applications

If you want it for quick reference create a alias for it and put the alias in the Utility folder by using New Tab in Finder

Apple has begun depreciating Keychain Access. It is still there. If you search Spotlight for Keychain Access it will find it. But you'll be prompted to open Passwords instead and there's a checkbox to not show the prompt again. I would recommend not checking that box! My guess is that the Keychain Access app may be removed entirely in a year or two with newer macOS upgrades in future. There is a command line tool called 'security' that talks to the keychain and my guess is that is not going to be removed. It's used to install certificates, etc.

Those who used Keychain Access to hold Secure Notes will need to move them to Notes and lock them if they need additional encryption. Sadly, you may need to copy / paste each note manually. Notes is superior to Keychain Secure Notes in several ways. You should save passwords in the Passwords app moving forward.
