MacBook Air M1 Forgot Administrator Password

I have a perfectly good MacBook Air with an M1 chip that was given to me, I was happy, but couldn’t get into it because of an “administrator account” whoever administrated this laptop obviously didn’t want any to have it, I’ve been trying method after method to reset the dang thing, like the shutdown and holding power button until you get into recovery mode doesn’t work because it’s been locked by the administrators. I need help

The help you need must come from the person who gave you the computer. They should have prepared it properly for transfer, by wiping it clean first. If they didn’t, then they will need to be the ones to unlock it and do so.
