Is this the correct way to turn off Color Management?
I am creating ICC profiles with the ColorMunki device and ccStudio. In order to obtain a meaningful ICC profile I need to turn off Color Management while printing my test prints that will scan with the ColorMunki. There appears to be no way to turn off Color Management on an iMac via the "Printers and Scanners" section of the System Settings. Actually, that makes sense as you would likely only want to turn off the setting at an as-printing basis, rather than globally.
When I click "Print" in ccStudio to print the test page, the Print dialog appears for the specific print job. I *believe* the way to turn off Color Management in the Print dialog is as follows...
- Expand the "Printer Options" section.
- Select the "Color Matching" setting.
- It will show you that you are currently set to "ColorSync."
- Click OK to return to the Printer Options section.
- Now click the "Quality & Media" section. In the Quality & Media screen...
- Select your specific Media Type - it should correspond to the specific paper you will be printing on (e.g., Photo Paper Pro Platinum)
- Under "Rendering Intent" select "No Color Correction"
- Click OK
- Click Print, to send the test page to the printer.
Can you confirm that this is the correct procedure to turn off Color Management for a specific print job?
I would note/caution that the above process is not "sticky" between print jobs. You will likely need to do it agai for your 2nd test print.
