Enhancing macOS for Multi-Monitor Setups: A Request for Hiding Secondary Desktops
As a dedicated macOS user who frequently works with multiple monitors, I have found the operating system to be incredibly powerful and versatile. However, there’s one feature that I believe could significantly enhance the user experience for those of us who rely on full-screen applications: the ability to hide secondary desktops when working with multiple monitors.
When using multiple monitors, I often run most of my applications in full-screen mode to maximize productivity and minimize distractions. However, this setup comes with a minor yet persistent annoyance. Whenever I activate Mission Control or use the “show desktops” gesture, I’m greeted with a clutter of additional desktops that I don’t actively use. This not only disrupts my workflow but also makes navigation less efficient.
By introducing an option to hide secondary desktops, macOS could offer a cleaner, more streamlined experience for multi-monitor users. This feature would allow us to focus solely on the applications we are actively using, without the distraction of unused desktops.
I believe this enhancement would be a valuable addition to macOS, aligning with Apple’s commitment to creating user-friendly and efficient software. It would cater to the needs of professionals and power users who depend on a seamless multi-monitor setup for their daily tasks.
Thank you for considering this feature request. I look forward to seeing how macOS continues to evolve and improve.
