Disappointing Experience with Apple and Costco on iPhone 15 Pro Overheating Issue

I purchased an iPhone 15 Pro from Costco, expecting the quality and performance Apple is known for. Unfortunately, I began experiencing severe overheating issues within a few months. Over the past several weeks, I’ve been stuck in a frustrating loop between Apple and Costco.

Apple offered a replacement, but only under the condition that a $1,799 hold is placed on my account, which is unreasonable and feels like a lack of trust. Additionally, had I bought the phone directly from Apple, they would have issued a refund instead. Costco, on the other hand, has delayed my refund process, and despite escalation, I’ve been left waiting without a clear resolution.

Instead of addressing the issue directly, Apple kept pushing their iCloud storage and AppleCare services, attempting to upsell these options rather than focusing on resolving the problem with my overheating device. They even suggested a trade-in option for half the value of my phone, which is absurd after just six months of use. I expected better customer service and a straightforward solution, but instead, I’ve been met with constant delays and sales pitches.

I’ve spent a lot of time trying to resolve this and the financial strain of the hold, along with the constant back-and-forth, has been overwhelming. I wouldn’t expect this level of poor service from two major brands.

If you’re considering purchasing a product that might require warranty support, I would recommend thinking twice before buying from Costco or relying on Apple for timely help. My experience has been anything but smooth.
