For security reasons 4th generation and older iPod Touches can no longer connect to the app store. Your best bet is trying to find a used 6th or 7th generation iPod. But note that even a 7th generation iPod cannot go beyond iOS 15 and many apps today require iOS 16 or higher.

First, this is a user-to-user support forum. Apple's participation here is largely limited to make sure we all follow the rules.

If you mean an iPod Touch 4th Gen, that's pretty well obsolete. It runs iOS 6.1.5. There are almost no apps that will run on software that old.

Apple discontinued the iPod Touch line over two years ago, in May 2022. There is no next generation to look forward to.
