USB Superdrive does not work with Sonoma 14.7

I have a Apple USB Superdrive and it was working fine using Sonoma 14.6 until the system crashed. When I connect the Superdrive, it reads the disc fine, I can import the CD, it can read the disc everything except it will not play any tracks. I have bought a new Superdrive as reckoned the old one has been played to death. I have updated the Sonoma software to 14.7. Still not playing. Am I missing something?

I have 'removable volumes' ticked on the Privacy settings

As an update, I spoke to Apple who were very proactive. They suggested upgrading to the next IOS platform (which I suspect would have not worked). I declined this as there's always the risk of third party apps being compromised.

As a solution, I downloaded VLC media player and made it the default player over Apple Music and problem solved for me. Apple, the USB Superdrive is an Apple product and Apple Music is Apple's software so... you need to sort this though I doubt you will as you have discontinued the Superdrive over streaming popularity.
