iPad six generation was given to me in a box. It has an iCloud lock. Can I bypass that or how can I go around it?

Ask whoever gave you the iPad for assistance removing
the lock.
Without the AppleID and password used to initiate the
Activation Lock, the iPad is useless and will remain so.
There is no workaround for the security features of Activation Lock.
