Firewall Safari Blocking all incoming connections, Unknown Administrators and Kerberos, System Configuration on my Personal MacBook Air M1.

Hi Apple Developer Supporters,

Good Morning

My Personal MacBook Air M1:

Mac OS: Sequoia, Version 15.0

Lockdown Mode and Encryption is already enabled. Please note, I only use this MacBook for personal use and have never connected to anyone except Apple Customer Support when I encountered problems in month of April 2024.

I have an issue of Firewall, Unknown Administrators, Kerberos and System Configuration on my Mac Book Air M1.

I.

I have 2 users on my name but there is 3rd Unknown Administrator on my Mac Book Air M1. How to delete the 3rd Unknown Administrator.

II.

Firewall has started to give the issue from today i.e. 11 October 2024 for Safari – Block all incoming connections.

I tried deleting by pressing the minus button besides as shown in the figure below but it doesn’t work. After pressing ok and again clicking on Options button in Firewall to check, I can see the Safari Block All Incoming Connections (Again). So deleting the option doesn't work.

Can anybody throw some light on that ?

When Firewall is Enabled, I cannot open any websites on Safari Browser.

III.

I have Kerberos Plugins, System Configuration and Configuration Profile in Library folder – There are many folders inside and What is all this and Can someone throw light on it.

There are many folders and Plugins inside it.

Kindly assist me with the above problems.

Thanks and Regards,

Omkar

Be Ultra Careful deleting an Administrator Account.

Delete a user or group on Mac

Especially as Apple Silicon Computers have a not to so well documented Ownership account with is directly related to Apple Silicon Computer

The " Owner Account of this computer "  has that privilege to add, remove, upgrade or downgrade accounts.

This would include adding more Admin Accounts and / or downgrading an ADDED Admin account

Below link will provide additional insights about the Difference between Admin Accounts and Owner Accounts

That's a group name. You can have standard users and administrator users. The Administrators group is a handy way to set preferences for all administrator users.

Firewall has started to give the issue from today i.e. 11 October 2024 for Safari – Block all incoming connections.

Turn off the firewall. I know the name sounds like it should be important or something, but it's not. It doesn't do anything except confuse people. That's why Apple ships it disabled.

The macOS operating system is the most complicated operating system ever made. It has hundreds of thousands of such files. You'll never find them all, even if you spent the rest of your life searching.

There's nothing wrong with your computer. You aren't being hacked.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I raised the question of Administrators as previously (in month of April 2024) I couldn't edit, rename, add folder in my Documents as I didn't have Admin rights on my primary account. It was shocking as who did it on my personal MacBook and how ? Nobody has access to my personal MacBook except me.

Hence, I had to create new user on same MacBook.

Even after contacting Apple Customer Care (5 to 6 times) and screen sharing, they couldn't provide any solutions on how to become admin again on my primary account on MacBook Air.

There was nothing like "Administrators" on my MacBook Air M1 which can be seen in the above snapshot.

Administrators is seen recently and it is causing sudden problem as the above case (primary account).

It has been reported here that a macOS Upgrade stripped the admin capability from the only user. Often, people cause it to happen by incorrectly changing the short user name on the account. It is not impossible to recover admin capability, but it’s not trivial.

Yes, there was.

No, it isn’t.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I got what you mean by the Group. Kindly note, I didn't create any group as Administrators.

Secondly, if I want to delete application like Freeform/Chess from MacBook Air, I cannot delete it.

When I try to add any of my users (from the 2 users which are admin), It shows the message that I do not have necessary permissions.

Can you throw some light on it ?

The Administrators group was created automatically by one of the 800,000 files that come pre-installed on your computer.

Secondly, if I want to delete application like Freeform/Chess from MacBook Air

Oh god, not this again

Can you throw some light on it ?

Those two apps account for another 373 of those 800,000 files that come pre-installed on your computer.

The vast majority of these files are read-only and cannot be modified. Otherwise, people would be constantly disabling their systems accidentally.
