ipod classic 120GB

I have ipod classic 120GB plugged into stereo receiver via 30 pin to usb chord. When playing, it sounds like a radio station with a weak signal - fading in and out. Occasionally it will sound reasonably normal, but the fading in and out is most of the time. Thoughts?

Ipod 7th Gen, will pair however wont play. I have an ipod (allegedly 7th gen) touch/nano, that I have decided to start using again as a better music playing solution to Spotify's rip off prices. I also have a JBL bluetooth speaker & a Teac bts500 speaker (brilliant speaker & sound). Never had an issue connecting or playing thru either with spotify on android, bluetooth on creative mp3 players or even from my PC. However, the iPod just wont co-operate, it pairs, connects...but nothing else. Not a sound. I have reset the ipod and reloaded it (song wise), I have checked on firmware updates....and yet no progress. Getting a little bit frustrated, and considering a new music player with bluetooth. Ipod Classic only plays podcasts one after another My ipod classic has been reliable for many years. But just in the last week it will play my downloaded podcasts one after another. I listen to them just before I go to sleep. In the past it just played one and stopped. Now my battery is half gone because its been playing all night. I searched for answers and found that having the shuttle on was the problem, I turned it off, the problem is still there. Is there some other setting on the ipod or in Itunes that could fix this? Thanks

iPod classic 160gb 7th generation model number MC297 not recognised by Sequoia 15.6.1 iPod displays connected message but almost immediately displays 'OK to disconnect' message with progress bar underneath. Does not appear in Finder or Music I know it's very old but is this the end of the line for my trusty iPod?
