Do I need to purchase the AirPods pro 2 or just new AirPods would be sufficient to enjoy all the advantages as a hearing aid with the testing app?

You will need to have the AirPods Pro 2 to take advantage of the hearing aid function when it comes out.
Any idea of when they are going to be available, or it would be just an upgrade to the software.
