Issue with Metro Tap Card

For about 2 months, I haven't been able to use my metro TAP card. I have sufficient funds and apple pay works fine at other places (e.g., restaurants or retail stores). I haven't changed any settings and it was working perfectly find before. Now every time I go to pay the fee, it keeps saying the TAP card terminal says "try again" with each attempt. I want to know if anyone knows what's going on?
