Are you talking about hardware (repair service) or software (operating system updates)?

For hardware, see

Obtaining service for your Apple product after an expired warranty - Apple Support

Apple stopped distributing the 15" M2 MacBook Air in March 2024, which implies that its hardware support status will become Vintage in March 2029. Apple is still selling some 13" M2 MacBook Airs, as price-point models, which suggests that the clock has not started running on them yet (even though they were introduced first!).

Apple has not announced how many operating system updates the M2 MacBook Airs will get. However, since the 13" M2 MacBook Air (2022) originally ran Monterey, and the very similar 15" M2 MacBook Air (2023) originally ran Ventura, I'm guessing they'll get at least the next two versions of macOS after the latest one (Sequoia). (So a 13" M2 MacBook Air that originally ran macOS 12.4 might end up running macOS 17.* two years or so from now.)

Even after the M2 MacBook Air hits its "end of the line" (as far as macOS updates), Apple will probably continue to provide critical bug and security fixes until that version of macOS is no longer one of the "most recent three".

So the M2 MacBook Airs should be in pretty good shape, OS-update-wise.

Note that this is an educated guess - not a promise by Apple. This is a user-to-user forum, and the people replying here are other users, like you.
