Copy / Paste Rounding between Calculator and Notes
I've been tracking the status of my retirement accounts on the iPhone 11pro in the Notes app. I have (3) accounts with various dollar amounts that change so I frequently update the net total status of my accounts in the Notes app. Lately, after an update in September 2024, the math figures copied to and from between the Calculator app and the Notes app are getting rounded.
I use the 'Basic' calculator, it use to show all 8 digits with the decimal in portrait, now it shows the 'e' scientific abbreviation in portrait. It never did that before Sept 2024. It displays the full number in landscape. However, even when I copy the full number in landscape, I get a different number when I paste it into the Notes app. It either rounds to a single decimal place or drops it all together. I don't want my calculator to do ANY rounding, I want to control whether or not I round the results.
Copying numbers from the Notes app into the Calculator app appears to work fine, it's only when I copy from the calculator to notes that I see the rounding.
The question is, why did Apple change the calculator? It was more accurate last August.
