No option to select a default password manager in macOS 15 Sequoia

In iOS and iPadOS 18, you can go to Settings/General/AutoFill & Passwords and select a default password manager. If you navigate to the same screen in macOS 15 Sequoia, the only option is the Apple Passwords app. There is no option for me to select my preferred password manager, 1Password, or any other password manager. Again, that option exists in iOS and iPadOS 18, but not in Sequoia. Sometimes, especially when I am creating a new login, the Apple Password app appears and interferes with my using 1Password. It is impossible to delete the Apple Passwords app, so I filed a bug report with Apple. Hopefully they will fix this soon. Just wanted to let people know.

I have filed a bug report with Apple. Also contacted Apple Tech Support and was told that this was a 1Password issue and not a macOS issue. That makes no sense because on my iPad in addition to Passwords and 1Password, all of the browsers I use that have a built-in password manager also show up as options, but none of them show up on my Mac. There would have to be a problem with all of them if the Apple Tech Support person was correct.

I contacted 1Password tech-support and they were very helpful. They said that 1Password does not use the macOS auto fill function, but rather their own native version. They suggested I disable the AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys function on the Mac in System Settings/General/AutoFill & Passwords. They said this would not effect 1Password functionality at all. I've done that and all is well so far though I have been busy and have not had time to really kick the tires. Don't know about Bitwarden.

It looks like that screen hasn't recognized that 1Password is installed. It works fine for me with Sequoia and the Autofill & Passwords Setting screen is the same as on my iPhone and iPad. I checked the 1Password Mac forum and don't see any reports of that issue there: https://1password.community/categories/1password-for-mac

You may want to post there or contact 1Password support: https://support.1password.com/contact-support/

Thank you for the suggestions and research. Much appreciated. In ipadOS 18 there are 5 password manager options. Passwords, 1Password, Brave, Firefox, and Vivaldi. In Sequoia there only is Passwords. So it is not just 1Password that is missing and not recognized but all of the others as well. Makes me think it is an Apple problem and not a 1Password problem. If all the other possible password managers were there (like on ipadOS) except 1Password that would be a different story. But none of them show up on my Mac. Glad no one else is having this difficulty. I checked and my wife's Mac Mini screen is the same as mine. So there are at least 2 of us. Will contact Apple tech support tomorrow. Thanks again for everyones help.
