The computer is the older edition of the Mac Pro which was the small cylinder.

Can you be more specific? Did the set up work before? or a new set up?

I believe your Mac Pro (cylinder) might be 2013 Mac Pro (aka Trash Can) - which equips with TB 2 connector.

Not sure about your model but it must have TB port #2 or #3 (with adapter) to work.

Yes but he computer and display were indeed connected before without a problem. I can tell you that the display is now working with the computer.
