Unable to delate a folder from the desktop of my iMac

I have this folder I created and moved some pictures into it to edit them. After I did that and deleted the pictures, I now have this folder on the desktop and cannot delete it. Every time I try it says this: "The operation can’t be completed because “Desktop Pictures” needs to be downloaded." What do I have to do to delete this folder?????

Please try restarting in Safe Mode (click the link for instructions) and while in Safe Mode try removing the folder.

BTW, do you have any of the following third party apps installed on your Mac?

       •      Antivirus Apps

       •      Cleaning Apps

       •      Security Apps

       •      VPN Apps

       •      Maintenance Apps

If you do, that would cause Mac OS to malfunction. As these types of apps are 100% unnecessary and cause Mac OS to become unstable and act buggy they are therefore useless and should be uninstalled per the developers instructions. If you would like further explanation, please let us know.

Malwarebytes is fine. Please do the following so we can look for obvious issues. Did you restart in Safe Mode as suggested????????????

First of all I really don't like downloading stuff like this. I did that this spring, got hacked, had to have spyware removed and had to change checking accounts, credit cards and all the electron funds transfer we have set up. It was a 3 day PAIN!!!

I got file removal figured out by accident. I have a lap top that mirrors my desktop, was using it today and deleted the file on the laptop. Poof it was gone on my desktop also. So thanks for the help.
