Getting an invoice rather than a receipt

View or Print Invoice

"Once an item is shipped or picked up, Apple will create an invoice for your order. To view or print your invoice, go to your Order Listing page and select an item to go to the order details. Then, select View Invoice at the top of your order details page to access your invoice.

You would only receive an invoice if you’re being billed. Your receipt will be provided as proof of payment for your device. You would not receive an invoice.

If you purchased in a country other than your own with a tax agreement, you’ll get appropriate documentation at the store where purchased.
