Apple wath ultra 2 heart monitor not working

My new apple watch ultra 2 heart monitor takes about 5 minutes to start tracking my heart rate after I start a run or workout. Then it tracks for a short time, less than a minute, and then loses it and shows the 'grey heart' symbol as it looks for my heart rate for a few minutes, then finds it briefly, etc. It is basiclaly useless. It worked for the first few weeks I owned it, but no longer functions. Have tried repositoning it every way i can think of.

Which watch band are you using?

I wear the Ocean Band during workouts and have to make sure, that the watch sits 1-2cm further away from the wrist as usual. Otherwise the weight of the watch and the movement of the arm during running or walking pushes the watch forward, and the sensor loses contact.
