Straight line drawing issue with Apple Pencil on iPad after iPadOS 18.0.1 update

Since updating my iPad to iPadOS 18.0.1, I have been unable to draw straight lines with my Apple Pencil in any of the apps where I used that feature, most notably for me, the Photos app. I found that I can copy a photo into the Notes app and draw straight lines on it there, but it doesn’t work if I zoom in at all. This is very frustrating for me and it is interfering with my work. Has anyone found a solution?
