Specific music not working for alarm

whenever I play Sunday morning by maroon 5 the alarm defaults to the standard alarm. I have tried all the normal methods of getting the alarm to work without success. I was wondering if this is just a isolated issue or other people are generally having the same issue.

Hey, I’ve had this problem for years. The solution is to download a high quality version instead of lossless. Alarms can’t handle lossless still it seems… don’t know why but if you delete the song you chose to be an alarm and redownload it in high quality then it will work perfectly

Thank you for the followup reply. A few things here...

Q1. "It was downloaded via my Apple Music subscription. I downloaded it straight through the music app. The interesting thing is that all other songs work with alarms. I was curious if the song is only provided in lossless format. The setting for downloaded music is set to high quality. Otherwise I’m stumped on how to fix this issue."

A1. Contact Apple Support:

If this is a consistent issue, then contact Apple SupportAlso, contact Apple Support, letting them know what is occurring here. It may be a glitch in the purchase, or their database. Screenshare what you are seeing while on the photo with Apple. That way, they can see this firsthand, from YOUR perspective.

Apple Contact Us Information:

Q2. "Can the artist that owns the copyright to the music change how the music is used, like using it as an alarm for example?"

A2. Not that I'm aware of. Note that you are leasing these purchases while you have an Apple Account --you do not own them.

Music Not Working for Alarm:

A. A Glitch:

Is this an iTunes Store purchase? If so, it may be a glitch in the file. "Piracy" would be the only thing that would come to mind, such as modifying music, and using it as unintended (such as for an alarm).

B. A Faulty Purchase:

When was this purchased? eMail Apple here (reportaproblem@apple.com), and state that you need to repurchase this. It would likely show up twice on your Music Library. I've had to do this a couple of times, all because of loss of Internet from my ISP, when I went to purchase something. The purchased track does not play all the way to the end..
