Battery Stops at 80% (Battery is Not Charging)

I already reported this a week ago. There was an update made and it fixed the bug. But now it is back again.


I am using MacBook Air 2020 Intel. Since I updated the OS to Sequoia, this problem has kept on coming back. I am confident that the battery is still in good condition as it can still charge up to 100%. How could the battery become "not charging" every time it reaches 80%, where it charges my iPhones up to 100%? I only turned on the battery to "Optimized Battery Charging" then it behaves this way again.


I am worried. Please address this. Thank you!

Just to add to previous posting


A feature first introduced into Big Sur and continues in each newer version of macOS.


It was introduced to preserve the number of Full Battery Cycles.


There was an Algorithm coded into the macOS.


It is perfectly Normal for it  to Pause / Suspend charging the battery beyond 80% and hold it at that level.


One can nudge / over-ride this by clicking the Battery Icon on Desktop Top Bar and allow charging beyond 80%.


From observations, it will Pause / Suspend again once reading 90%.


Same procedure to over-ride and will charge to 100%
