Should I add Norton Security to my iPhone?
I have Norton on my HP desktop and can add more devices including Mac and iPhone's; but do I really need it? What does Apple recommend?

I have Norton on my HP desktop and can add more devices including Mac and iPhone's; but do I really need it? What does Apple recommend?

With Apple platforms, the built-in anti-malware and related security defenses do well, and the add-on “security” apps don’t do appreciably better.
And some of the add-on anti-malware and add-in security apps and VPN add-ons around can too often be difficult to distinguish from malware.
Outside of environments where endpoint security or specific added defenses are appropriate, I don’t usually recommend add-on security for Apple platforms.
Malware? One of the better-known add-on security apps for macOS was recently fined for not disclosing their collecting and reselling of personally-identified web-browsing and web-purchasing metadata. They didn’t disclose that metadata sale.

PS: The Microsoft Windows environment and implementation is quite different than macOS in various ways here, and very different from iOS and iPadOS, though. With your Microsoft Windows PC, I’d consider switching to whatever Microsoft calls Windows Defender this week, too; to the Microsoft Defender Antivirus package.

Apple does not recommend any sort of security or anti-virus applications at all.
There are no know viruses or malware that can affect an iPhone.

Virus or malware protection on your Apple products isn’t needed, they already have that built in. Chances are using virus or malware protection applications will actually interfere with your OS system and slow the interface down.
