iCloud Passwords app on Windows 11 has garbled websites

The new "iCloud Passwords" app on Windows 11 shows me passwords. But the titles and websites have been replaced by some kind of GUIDs. These same entries display correctly on my iPhone.

Has anyone experienced this before or found a solution? Any tips are appreciated.

I am having the same issue.

I manually added several passwords to Apple Passwords via my iPhone and iPad in an attempt to move from a third-party password manager to Apple Passwords. Once I finished on my Apple devices (which work fine), I enabled “Passwords and Keychain” on iCloud for Windows on my Windows 11 23H2 PC to access passwords from Windows.

The iCloud Passwords app opens in Windows, and the Windows Hello PIN login option works. There is a noticeable delay as it loads my 290+ passwords, but they appear to load.

When they load, most of them have a garbled title and website, like the screen shot provided by the other user. Out of my 290+ entries, only 22 are not garbled.

For additional context, I manually added most of these passwords because I am trying to shift away from a third party password manager.

I would like this resolved so I can consider dropping my third party manager for Apple Passwords, assuming it can work as well on PC.

I too was hoping to replace a third-party cross platform pw manager with apple passwords. But the fact that the title field, as entered when creating the entries on my iPad, is omitted in the iCloud passwords app on windows, means I cannot even tell what most of entries are for. Even when I open the entry to see the details, the title of the entry is still not shown.

It looks to me like unless iCloud passwords recognizes the originally entered title as a website, it displays some kind of a code instead of the actual title of the entry. And of course, there are things stored in most people's password managers, that are not websites, like garage door codes, various household codes, app passwords, and LAN info.

I've read that it is supposed to be possible to edit the passwords in iCloud passwords but I have not been successful in saving any edits to any password entries in the app.

I tried adding a web address to the website field on some of the affected password entries on my iPhone. That did not cure them in iCloud passwords.

I'm hoping there's an answer as to why this is happening and how to fix it.

Anything interesting about the 22 that look correct? Does it matter if the password is created on the phone or on the PC?

By the way, I see a similar long delay when loading passwords, even though I have only two for testing.

The browser extension is a waste of time. All it does is launch the Passwords app. No autofill.

I did find a setting on my iPhone under apps/passwords labeled "Show Accounts As". The choices are "Titles" or "Websites". It seems to default to websites. So, I changed it to Titles. There was no change to how the entries appeared on the iPhone or on the PC iCloud Passwords.

Weird codes were still displayed instead of entry Titles on the PC iCloud passwords app. And the iPad and iPhone still show the entry titles same as when the setting was set to "Websites"

It does make me hope, however, that such a setting, if it were added to the iCloud password app, might enable the titles to be shown. That would at least allow identification of the entries.
