Can I Create Customized Templates?

iMovie does not have a specific feature for creating custom templates. Nor does iMovie accept 3rd party plug-ins.

However, to make a customized template in iMovie you can create an iMovie project (name it Templates) and construct templates there that you can copy and paste into other projects. You can also copy into your Templates project, for later use, movie effects, footage, and titles created in other projects. You can use other apps, like the Keynote app on your Mac, to create animated titles and other effects that you can export and store in a Templates iMovie project or event for use in an iMovie project.
