Apple Watch not connected to internet

I tried asking Siri to set a timer and got a message that "Siri not available, Your Apple Watch is not connected to the internet" Now I am also getting a pop up alert on my phone saying "Could not connect to Apple Watch Make sure your AW is nearby, powered on, and not in airplane mode". I have done all of that. I have a first generation watch and a new iPhone 16 pro which I paired at the Apple Store and both were working properly for about a week.

Thank you Ingo2711. Turns out that was the problem - we just switched to fiber and now have two networks on our router. My husband had changed my phone to the newer/faster network. Not sure why they didn't work together via bluetooth when I was out of the house, but Apple Help had me un-pair and then pair again and now everything is working as it should
