Auto Disconnect from one Device When iphone connects to another device

This automation allows you to automatically disconnect your car’s Bluetooth (Car BT) when another Bluetooth device (Device A) connects. It works by temporarily turning off Bluetooth when Device A connects, forcing Car BT to disconnect. Bluetooth is then turned back on to allow Device A to reconnect while keeping Car BT disconnected.

Example Scenario:

Let’s consider two devices:

• Device A: This is the device you want to connect to, such as a pair of wireless headphones.

• Device B (Car BT): This is your car’s Bluetooth, which you want to disconnect automatically when Device A connects.

Steps:

1. Create the Automation for Device A:

• Open the Shortcuts app and go to the Automation tab.

• Tap Create Personal Automation.

• Choose Bluetooth and select Device A from the list of devices.

• Tap Next.

2. Add a Toggle Bluetooth Action:

• Tap Add Action.

• In the search bar, type “Set Bluetooth”.

• Tap on Set Bluetooth (it will give you an option to turn Bluetooth on or off).

• Set it to Off (this turns off Bluetooth when Device A connects, effectively disconnecting Device B—Car BT).

3. Turn Bluetooth Back On After Disconnection:

• Tap Add Action again and search for Wait.

• Set a wait time (e.g., 2 or 3 seconds) to allow Car BT to disconnect.

• After that, add another Set Bluetooth action, this time setting it to On, so that Device A reconnects after the brief disconnection.

4. Disable Ask Before Running:

• Turn off Ask Before Running so it runs automatically without requiring confirmation each time.

5. Save the automation by tapping Done.

How It Works:

• When Device A connects, the automation will momentarily turn Bluetooth off, disconnecting Device B (Car BT).

• Bluetooth will then be turned back on so that Device A reconnects, while Car BT stays disconnected.
