Experiencing software issues with iPhone 16 Pro Max.

1) Mail app. does not make a sound, it works when it wants to, sometimes I will get a notification sound sometimes I will not, and that's only when is NOT a Gmail, if it's a Gmail forget about it, no sound whatsoever. I even spoke to apple customer care and he advise me to download the Gmail app which has been working great but again if I'm paying $1800 for a phone I want all features to work like they are supposed to.


2) LED Flash for alerts works only for phone calls not emails, not texts.


3) Siri... sometimes she works and responds, sometimes it doesn't.


Anyone else having issues?

as for the phone problem you might want to turn off the “attention awareness feature “ in settings and see if that helps.

if that doesn’t help, it’s probably a software problem like all the rest of their problems they have. And they don’t do very well at fixing these things. They’re more interested in putting out new features.

I had a problem with my SX/Max phone it wouldn’t make phone calls or receive phone calls. An outside troubleshooting company found the work around, which Apple ignored.

Went through four months with Apple technicians and nothing?? OR just take it back for another one.

Apple never fixed mine saying it might be fixed in an upcoming update, but they ended up coming out saying the same thing the third-party company I talked to said to do.

Hey thank you for the details. I just received my iPhone 16 Pro Max on 24 October and I am having the exact same issues. My Siri sometimes just decides not to work even the microphone to type the text so I have to constantly reset my phone for Siri to come back on also my cellular network it’s very very bad the phones constantly Heating and charging is very slow. I’m very very disappointed. I’ve contacted Apple and I even have AppleCare for it and the phone just hung up and didn’t even get back to me so now I have a 2 1/2 thousand dollar phone my iPhone 14 pro Max was 10 times better than this and the phone is right next to me as we speak my 16 pro Max is the same Telco network. The iPhone 14 Pro Max has four bars with 5G. My iPhone 16 has one bar with 4G. What do I do

I found iPhone 16 pro max to be extremely disappointing. My 12 pro max operates better. Been an iPhone user since 3GS but now after getting the 16 pro max, I doubt that I’ll get another iPhone. Will try to get rid of it and switch to another brand. Too many problems. Sluggish, slow, heats up, screen doesn’t respond all the time, etc. I also lost my precious notes and WhatsApps because of iCloud and Apple’s complex syncing and backup process. The worst part is that Apple did nothing to make this right.

I have iphone 16 pm- seems to be one big problem. i lost all my messages because its not sync. icloud backup files. while texting, tapping is freezing. its so frustating and apple support dont do anything. we are calling we are calling- when they are calling i dont know. if apple loosing all icloud data then whats the point- better take samsung if its works

My iPhone 16PM won’t answer phone calls sometimes. Screen just freezes and won’t allow me to answer. But I can text …. It honestly makes no sense. Flash light stopped working. It would say it was on but it wasn’t. WiFi goes off on its own… sounds like to me Apple scammed us and I’m pretty upset that I just paid 2,000 dollars for a phone that’s not functioning properly

This is the second iPhone 16 pro max I’ve had in 4 months. First one wouldn’t charge after a month. Charging port fault. This one refused to turn on this morning. Went to O2 and he HELD in right side button then pressed volume up then volume down then it came on. I wouldn’t get another iPhone now unless Apple did something to resolve issues they weren’t even helpful when rang them. Because I bought the phone from O2, and not them. Just told me to go to O2. That isn’t a good service

I used iPhone 13 Pro Max and I had never issues but when I switched to iPhone 16 pro max I regretted. I have several issues with it.

  1. when I zoom pdf files in WhatsApp, it crashes and I have to reopen WhatsApp. I had never this issue with iPhone 13 Pro Max.
  2. When I use camera, phone overheating.
  3. when I make phone calls I have 10% calls without audio.
  4. sometime touch screen not respond , which I never experienced in iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Due to these reasons I loose faith in iPhone and I bought one $150 Chinese phone which is giving me more faith than this iPhone 16 pro max.


I hope I’m not biased.

I have similar issues. I just bought my iPhone 16 Pro Max at the end of 2024. Brand new paid full in cash. My phone’s flashlight works when it wants to even if it says it’s on, it will not be working. Siri works when it wants to. My Wi-Fi never stays connected. Apple says they cannot find any issues. I genuinely believe that they scammed every single person who bought an iPhone 16. I’ll take my $1200 cash back please.
